Principal Systems Engineer/Technical Director

Description of Duties:

Primary
Architect and design communications and data network systems for shipboard applications.
Direct and manage the activities of a multi-disciplined engineering team.
Support business development and proposal activities.
Manage related research & development projects.
Provide engineering oversight in support of legacy fielded projects and systems.

Additional
Ensure a logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into a total system solution that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
Perform hardware, software and technology evaluations related to the design of LAN/WAN architectures.
Provide technical support and direction at all levels to include: concept, design, test and operation.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum: Five years working with network systems design, hardware equipment and software. Candidates must have a working knowledge and experience with network hardware equipment and software, TCP/IP, FDDI, Gigabit Ethernet and LAN/WAN networking.

Desired: A record of achievement in communication systems design, ideally for shipboard networks but at least in the application of state of the art network architectures and systems.

Educational Requirements:

Minimum: BS Electrical Engineering

Desired: BS Electrical Engineering with an advanced degree or graduate studies in systems engineering and/or communication system design

Other: Applicants must have strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multitasking skills.

We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hours in 9 days and have every other Friday off.
