With current sales revenue of $13B and a worldwide presence, our client is a leader in the manufacture of mid-size diesel engines. Located in Illinois, our client has an excellent relocation assistance policy as well as excellent benefits.
The Sr. Project Engineer will focus on conducting 1D system simulations of fuel systems and fuel system components and, through analysis, will guide the design process, qualify performance, efficiency and robustness of fuel systems and recommend improvements. The successful candidate will also explore the validity of new concepts and will be responsible for creating tasks, charts, managing programs, presentations and will coach and train less senior engineers.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
BS in appropriate technical expertise with minimum 7 years experience OR MS with thesis in core competency with 5 years experience; OR PhD in general area of core competency without experience.
Understanding of numerical models, i.e. algebraic, ordinary (ODE) or partial differential equations used to describe components which comprise thermal-fluid systems.
Understanding of theory feedback control systems.
Familiarity of the numerical methods used to solve systems of ordinary differential equations and algebraic- differential equations,
Familiarity with frequency response and other methods used to quantify the dynamic behavior of systems.
Demonstrable ability to derive conclusions from analysis and make practical recommendations.
Understanding the operating principles of diesel engine fuel systems including HUEI and common rail type fuel systems,
