Property-Claims Specialist





Primary Responsibilities Include:

· Processing incoming claims for Real-Estate-Owned (REO), foreclosure and bankruptcy properties that have sustained a near or total loss

· Reporting and monitoring vacant property claims

· Negotiating claim settlements with insurance adjusters for payment of funds on REO properties

· Working as a liaison, when necessary, between contractors and insurance adjusters







A Successful Candidate Will Have:

· High school diploma or GED

· 4+ years of property-claims experience

· 1+ year(s) of direct customer-service experience

· Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities

· Practical knowledge of construction, insurance, construction-disbursement controls and lien protection

· Effective comprehension, listening, negotiating, presentational and verbal/written communication skills

· Ability to be detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated

· Ability to multi-task and effectively work as part of a team

· PC proficiency and ability to develop formatted documents







The Ideal Candidate May Also Possess:

· Bachelor's degree or completion of college coursework in a related field-of-study

· Knowledge of property and casualty insurance and insurance policies

· Construction knowledge (including knowledge of contractual agreements)
