The Position
CHC Helicopter Corporation is seeking an experienced person to fill the NEW position of Commodity Manager, Fuel.
The Commodity Manager, Fuel will be responsible for reducing overall costs to CHC by developing and executing business plans for the purchase of fuel and other commodities.
Responsibilities:
* Play a key role in CHC’s ability to set the standard for safety, helping to maintain our position as world leader.
* Develop and implement a sourcing strategy to achieve cost savings within each commodity group
* Evaluate vendor process capabilities, cost models, quotes and service proposals to determine the most desirable suppliers
* Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements for assigned commodities
* Manage suppliers, cost quality, and delivery performance
* Manage Commodity Team activities to achieve strategic business plan objectives
* Understand, track and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for assigned commodities
* Perform market analysis and report supplier performance indicators
* Provide leadership, management and oversight for the commodity group
* Coordinate with all relevant departments on all supplier related issues
* Participate as required in performing supplier audits
* Some international travel will be required
Position Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree plus at least five (5) years of experience in a management level position in planning or purchasing; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
* Strong leadership, customer service, problem solving, communication, negotiation and organization skills.
* Knowledge of procurement, strategy and market drivers
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
