Job Description
Position: Registered Nurses
Status: Permanent Part-Time & Permanent Full-Time
Department: Nursing
Reporting to: Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse
JOB SUMMARY:
Leisureworld Caregiving Centres currently has openings for permanent part-time and full-time Registered Nurses across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES (But not limited to):
· Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the resident
· Validates the plan of care, goals and objectives with the resident/family
· Provides effective guidance and supervision for the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and the Personal Support Worker (PSW)
· Ensures that documentation standards are reflected in the resident’s chart
· Liaises with Ministry of Health Compliance Advisors and Consultants, social workers, physicians, psychiatrists, the Coroner and appropriate health care facilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
· Proven organizational, observational, interpersonal and communication skills
· Long-term care experience is preferred
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor of Science – Nursing or equivalent
· Certificate in gerontology nursing preferred
· Current BCLS or Heart Saver Certificate an asset
