Monster Cable currently has an opening for a Product Category Manager in the mobile, cellular product category. Project Lead: Mobile (Cellular)
1) Project Leader-- The Project Leader is to be the central point at Monster for a product category for creation, procurement, sell-in, shipping, sell-through, and marketing of assigned products.
2) New Business Special Projects—Prepare feasibility studies and sales presentation materials for prospective new product categories.
Responsibilities
1. Project management centered point for the company for the creation, procurement, sell-in, shipping, sell-through, and marketing of new products. (this was previously spread around NPD, Marketing, and Engineering with no consistency)
2. Lead various teams in our processes to ensure the dots are connected and the process is moving.
3. Identify and elevate constraints.
4. Day to day connecting point for all departments.
• Manage the timelines for all category projects to ensure projects are launched on time and within budget
• Manage and update the project binders for all category products
• Manage and update the PRF Log on the current status of all projects and distribute to the category team weekly
5. They will team with the Product Area Manager to get decisions made and information out to the people who need it.
• Distribute key product/project updates to Sales/Regionals and internal departments
• Participate in conference calls with Monster rep firms
• Distribute inventory reports internally and externally
• Participate in S&OP meeting
• Participate in departmental meetings
6. They will know the products and the product lines and will serve as an easy way for people inside and outside the organization to get answers on product features, roadmap, pricing, ship dates, marketing activities, etc.
• Manage the category product matrix, including Monster products and competitive products, for both domestic and international markets
• Participate/drive the development of PAM Letters and PIS sheets
• Assist Sales with set-up sheets as necessary
• Participate in the development of new products, including feature identification and competitive analysis
• Drive/assist with sales projections for new/existing products
• Drive/assist with the management of specific product lines
• Assist with the creation of product roadmaps
7. Along with the PAM, they will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Training for creation and planning.
• Participate/drive the development of category launch programs and promotions for key products within the category
• Participate/drive the development of category sell through programs
• Drive the development of website content, sell in slides, training slides, and press
PERFORMANCE METRICS
The incumbent’s performance will be assessed on:
• New Product introduction to market on schedule
• Driving new product creation in assigned category
• Competitive analysis in the both existing and new markets
• Training and Sell-in support and creation
• Inventory management
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The incumbent will form key relationships with:
• Head Monster – brainstorm new opportunities, discuss opportunities, threats and constraints associated with projects
• PAMs/MAMs – assess and address channel opportunities, channel strata and key customer requirements.
• MAMs/Sales Team – build accurate forecasting and inventory management plan
• Engineering – define product release requirements and guide action items and deliverables as it pertains to product design, engineering, projects management, specifications and quality assurance
• Finance – for proper profitability modeling, analysis, review and planning.
• Operations – develop potential costs and operating process for new categories and support existing products categories in the S&OP process
• Marketing – develop product launch plans, packaging, POP and ongoing promotions and product revitalization campaigns.
• M-Team – ensure ongoing pricing and product positioning accuracy and execution
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
• Project management experience
• Relevant product category experience preferred
