About Cambridge Health Alliance
Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is an innovative, award-winning health system that provides high quality care in Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston's metro-north communities. It includes three hospital campuses, more than 20 primary care and specialty practices, the Cambridge Public Health Department, and the Network Health plan. With this unique model, CHA is able to offer the finest health services, a diverse working environment, and a premier training experience for those interested in community-based medicine.
Social work at Cambridge Health Alliance
At CHA, social workers have the best of both worlds. We are a community health provider that understands the value of mental health services, and a teaching hospital system with an international reputation for academics and research.
As one of the largest mental health providers in Massachusetts, and the state’s sole remaining public hospital system, CHA cares for the complete spectrum of emotional, behavioral, and learning disorders, and addiction concerns. This includes everything from outpatient counseling and therapy to psychiatric emergency and inpatient care. We also offer specialty programs for patients of all ages, and in multiple languages, based on clinical need. In all areas, social workers are key members of our provider team.
Clinical care is complemented by our strong academic programs and groundbreaking research programs. Our goals here are to better understand mental health conditions, develop more effective treatments, and train the next generation of behavioral health professionals.
